Dr. Suhail Chughtai
President PWMA

Dr. Suhail is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (locum) with the NHS in England and serves as the Director of Orthopaedics at M L Professionals in London. With a dynamic role as Chief Technology Officer at The Health Bank Global in the UAE,     

Dr. Suhail is also an AI and Telehealth Strategist, providing consultancy for international digital health projects. As the Director of Digital Health at APPS-UK, he leads AI and telehealth software design, contributing to over 20 digital health projects worldwide.

Dr. Suhail also actively contributes to digital health education, serving as a visiting instructor at multiple universities in Pakistan and Ghana. A published author in the field, he has written a book on telemedicine and over 20 articles on digital health topics.

Ms. Gulnaz Tariq
President Elect PWMA

Gulnaz Tariq is the CEO of the International Interprofessional Wound Care Group (IIWCG) and the Past President of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS). Currently based in the UAE, she works as a Wound Care Consultant, having previously served as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi.

She is also the founder and CEO of IIWCG, a member of the International Society for Wound Care and Prevention (ISWCAP), and a former Director for the Middle East at the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP). She serves as a reviewer for Advances in Skin & Wound Care journal, Editorial board member of International Wound Journal, and is an executive board member of the Interprofessional Wound Care Association (IWCA). In 2021, she was appointed Clinical Advisor for Debra Pakistan, and she is currently President-Elect of the Pakistan Wound Management Association (PWMA).

Dr. Somia Iqtadar
General Secretary

Dr. Somia Iqtadar is an esteemed Associate Professor of Medicine at King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan, with adjunct faculty roles in public health at the University of Health Sciences and the Institute of Public Health in Lahore. She is also a dedicated supervisor for postgraduate programs including MD, MRCP, and FCPS. Dr. Iqtadar has served in numerous health advisory roles for the Punjab Government and the World Health Organization (WHO) EMRO, focusing on arboviral diseases and public health policy.

A recognized leader in healthcare, Dr. Iqtadar has been honored with multiple awards, including the Health Icon Award 2024 and the Award of Excellence from the President of Pakistan in 2022 for her contributions to diabetes care. Her extensive research includes over 60 publications in international and national medical journals. Dr. Iqtadar’s memberships include the Royal College of Physicians, the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, among others.

Sameena Parveen
Executive Member

Sameena Parveen is an experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Manager at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute & Research Center (PKLI) in Lahore, Pakistan. With a career spanning over a decade, she has held prominent roles in infection control, including as Assistant Manager at The Indus Hospital & Health Network in Karachi. Her expertise includes managing IPC surveillance programs, developing and implementing infection control policies, conducting audits, and organizing educational sessions and workshops.

Sameena holds a postgraduate diploma in Infection Prevention and Control from the Infection Control Africa Network, in collaboration with Radboud University Medical Center, Netherlands, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ziauddin University, Karachi. She has pioneered infection control courses, authored an IPC handbook for healthcare providers, and contributed to various national and international IPC workshops. Sameena’s notable achievements include developing Pakistan's first Infection Control Mobile App and initiating a national diploma program for IPC professionals.

Muhammad Asghar
Executive Member

Muhammad Asghar is a highly qualified Specialist ICU Practitioner and Director of PRO International Medics Ltd., based in the United Kingdom. With a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) Karachi and further graduation from KFHMC in Karachi, Pakistan, he advanced his expertise with a B.Sc. in Critical Care from King’s College London. He is also trained as an ICU specialist from City University London and holds a Diploma in Mental Health from Rusland College London.

Muhammad is a dedicated leader and advocate for healthcare professionals, serving as the President of the All Pakistan Nurses Association in the UK (APNA-UK) and Chairperson of the Professional Relief Organisation. His commitment extends to charitable work as a Trustee for ABMT & Carelink UK Trust, where he contributes to initiatives supporting healthcare and relief efforts globally
